Overview:
Is responsible for creating engaging and relevant content related to the world of entertainment, which can cover a wide range of topics such as film, music, television, celebrities, pop culture, cultural events, among others.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives, as well as extended hours during hurricanes and continuous coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the daily script for the show.
- Preparation of articles, reviews, news, reports, lists, interviews, profiles and multimedia content (videos, podcasts, etc.) related to entertainment.
- Review of interviews and press releases in English and Spanish.
- Conducting extensive research to obtain accurate and up-to-date information on events, movie releases, TV show premieres, concerts, celebrity news, and more.
- The ability to adapt to different writing styles, tones and formats, whether it be news writing, promotional content or more creative and editorial pieces.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in the entertainment industry.
- Work closely with assignment desk, booker, editors, other writers and multimedia teams to ensure the quality of content and its presentation.
- Conducting interviews with celebrities
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Journalism/Communication or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and Spanish.
- Minimum 3 years in general market or Spanish language television station as a scriptwriter.
- In-depth knowledge of the entertainment industry, celebrities and current trends.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to react to breaking news.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
