Overview:
Is responsible for the development, content, management and production of a TV Show.
For this position, it is a must to have worked on the development and execution of different television magazines and soft news formats.
Must have knowledge of areas such as content, editing, production and control room operation.
This individual must be a strategic and creative thinker, a self-starter, and a collaborator willing to learn new tools and share ideas.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives, as well as extended hours during hurricanes and continuous coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop ideas for entertainment shows that appeal to the target audience.
- Generate, research, verify, plan and develop story ideas for our newscasts, as well as bring breaking stories to air.
- Build round down for morning daily show.
- Gather information from several broadcasts and online sources to determine coverage opportunities.
- Assign news stories, dispatch and coordinate writers or reporters
- Coordinate our crews in their news gathering and production process, making and confirming appointments with interviewees.
- Coordinate live remote capabilities for live news stories or interviews.
- Constantly update news stories with the latest information and developments.
- Assists writers, producers and web editors with gathering information and updating stories.
- Responsible for arranging, downloading and supervising video feeds.
- Must participate in editorial meetings to inform those gathered of events being covered.
- Lead and supervise the production of tv shows, from pre-production to post-production, ensuring quality standards.
- Coordinate and manage the resources for production, edition, content and technical equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and programming to executive effective strategies.
- Request and organize talent interviews, and keep in contact with celebrity’s managers, PRs, and other entertainment industry professionals.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Journalism/Communication or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and Spanish.
- Proven experience as a content and video producer for television or digital platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of the entertainment industry, celebrities and current trends.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills.
