Content Acquisition Manager

We are looking for a qualified professional with the skills to acquire content for Canela in Latin America from Mexico and other countries throughout Latin America. Responsible for managing all aspects of the acquisition process throughout the Territory and to assist the VP of Content Acquisitions and VP of Content Strategy by evaluating programming opportunities and making recommendations from a creative and commercial perspective for the Latin American market/Territory.

Overview:

We are looking for a qualified professional with the skills to acquire content for Canela in Latin America from Mexico and other countries throughout Latin America. Responsible for managing all aspects of the acquisition process throughout the Territory and to assist the VP of Content Acquisitions and VP of Content Strategy by evaluating programming opportunities and making recommendations from a creative and commercial perspective for the Latin American market/Territory.

Responsibilities

  • Content opportunities and build partnerships with producers, studios, and content owners/aggregators in Latin America and establish/curate long-term relationships.
  • All revenue share license agreements with large and small content providers within the Territory that support the content strategy for each country/market.
  • With the Content Coordinator to ensure all contracts are signed and assets are delivered in a timely manner
  • With the Content Strategy Coordinator in securing content availability lists and coordinating all selections by the Content Team into a cohesive offer.
  • With program licensing contracts and ability to assess licensing terms and overall risk management.
  • Accurate recording of rights agreements in the rights management systems.
  • With Finance & Accounting Manager and oversee the fulfilment of payments in accordance with the payment terms of the agreements.
  • Analysis and valuation of new deals to support decision making.
  • Input and assist in content licensing negotiations for financial analysis and technical requirements.

Qualifications:

  • With 100% Spanish and English Language proficiency.
  • At least 5 years of experience in content licensing, account management or finance experience with a strong working knowledge of Mexican and Latin American film, scripted & unscripted series programming.
  • Relationships with LATAM television production companies and studios.
  • Understanding of digital video distribution technologies and the media landscape with a focus on streaming.
  • Analytical skills with an innovative approach to make data/research-informed decisions and assess inherent risks while achieving desired results.
  • Communication skills; ability to thrive and multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment and rapidly evolving business models.
