Job Summary:
As a Director, you will be responsible for improving Canela’s video and display ad delivery by managing all aspects of campaign management. This includes both direct sales and programmatic, assisting with media buying, implementing process optimization to fulfill our revenue goals, as well as assisting with client service and campaign reporting and data collection. Reporting to the VP of Advertising Technology, this role will oversee the Ad Operations function. The right person for this role is both dynamic and goal oriented, has technical competencies, leads by example, and has excellent cross-departmental interpersonal skills. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Lead the Ad Operations department and develop a team of Ad Operations Managers with the positivity and skills necessary to successfully achieve corporate goals
- Establish a deep understanding of Canela’s direct and programmatic revenue streams for CTV, Mobile, OLV, and display inventory across O&O and partner supply
- Partner with Ad Sales and Client Services to meet revenue goals, achieve client KPIs, and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain and improve operational workflows for campaign management & trafficking across all Canela’s ad tech platforms (Springserve, Google Ad Manager, Placements.io, Magnite Streaming, Xandr, DV360, and others)
- Identify and suggest ad server, OMS, and process enhancements to support business needs and improve operational efficiency
- Drive critical thinking and creative problem solving with immediate team and managerial counterparts
- Develop and maintain training documentation and Ad Operations process workflow to ensure new hires excel in their on-boarding
- Serve as primary support for team members who meet an internal or external business challenge
- Maintain deep comprehension of ad server delivery logic and industry standards
- Coach and mentor team members with tangible and frequent performance feedback, maximizing retention and focusing on career growth for direct reports
- Support and collaborate with various internal teams including Ad Tech, Sales, Planning, Client Services, Strategy, and Finance
- Provide after-hours support for any client-related or technical emergencies, as necessary
Required Experience, Skills, and Training:
Thrives under tight deadlines, and skilled in communicating timelines and urgency with internal teams and external stakeholders
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years of Ad Operations and 2 years directly managing multiple individual contributors
Minimum of 2 years of experience at an OTT streaming service and familiarity with SSAI, VOD, FAST, and Live Linear
Detailed comprehension and experience in trafficking display and video ads, including VAST, VPAID, and interactive formats
Strong understanding of ad server technology such as Springserve, Google Ad Manager, or Freewheel
Strong understanding of programmatic solutions and DSPs/SSPs including Magnite, Xandr, The Trade Desk, and DV360
Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 or CSS, specifically to perform ad QA and debugging tasks
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and skills to manipulate/analyze data and generate reports
Firm understanding of the advertising video marketplace, vendors, and third-party technologies
Expert problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent client and interpersonal skills, with a flexible attitude
Experience and comfort with presenting and training in front of large groups
Detailed orientated and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic marketplace and work environment
